A Flip Flop is a logic gate which transforms a momentary logic signal into a latching logic signal. Flip Flops will toggle their output whenever they receive a LOW-to-HIGH logic signal transition at their input. A Flip Flop will not respond at all to a HIGH-to-LOW transition.
